[ARCHIVED] Land Sale - '40 Acre Pit'

BY SEALED BID

The Stevens County Board of Commissioners will be offering 40 acres of property for sale.  This parcel is commonly referred to as the ‘40-acre Pit.’  Legal Description: SE ¼ SE ¼ Horton Township, Section 29, T123N, R42W, Lot 0, Block 0. The parcel is approximately 28.5 acres of depleted gravel and 11.5 acres of tillable land. 

The Board will offer the property through a sealed bid process.  Bids are required to be accompanied by a 10% down payment, no later than end of business on Friday, March 31, 2017.  Bids should be sent to or delivered in person to:

Bids shall be opened at 10:00 a.m., April 4, 2017 at the Board of Commissioners Regular Meeting.  All bidders who submit bill shall have the right to raise their bid in person, at the time of sale.  The County retains the right to reject any and all sales at time of opening.  Purchase price is subject to reserve amount of $120,000.


Subject to MN Statute 373.01, subd1(h) the County is additionally required to reserve all mineral rights to parcel.
 

Buyer is responsible for assuming all cost to transfer deed.  Buyer shall remit remaining funds on purchase price on or before end of business day on May 15th, 2017.
