Commissioner Bob Kopitzke
Commissioner Bob Kopitzke is Stevens County District 1 County Commissioner. He serves the constituents in the City of Morris, Precinct 2. Koptizke has been elected to one term for Stevens County. He started in 2013.
Commissioner Kopitzke was born and raised in Stevens County. He spent two years studying at University of Minnesota – Morris. Throughout his working career, Kopitzke has had extensive construction experience. Early on, he worked in the Stevens County area for his father at a family owned business. This led to work opportunities in the metro area where he worked for a concrete company, as well as owning and operating his own concrete construction business.
Kopitzke later returned to Morris and since then, has been actively involved in many volunteer activities in the community. He is currently serves on the RUSC Kinship Mentorship Board, Board Member and Volunteer for Prairie Pioneer Days, Volunteers for Food Drop Events, and Volunteers for Center for Small Towns.
Kopitzke’s hobbies include reading, golfing, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying the area fishing and hunting opportunities. He has a son Collin. As a commissioner, Kopitzke wants to hear from the constituents on issues that affect them. Commissioner Kopitzke currently serves on a variety of committees representing local government interests. He currently serves on both internal and external committees which include: Solid Waste Committee, Prime West, Horizon Public Health, Emergency Services Board, Supporting Hands Nurse Family Partnership, Morris Chamber of Commerce, Minnesota Rural Counties Caucus, West Central Initiatives, Stevens County HRA, Comprehensive Planning, and Department Head Committee.
