Choosing a provider that works for your family can be difficult and overwhelming. Having a good working relationship with your provider is important. Below are some informational guides and tools to help with the process of choosing a provider right for your family.

Knowing the rules and regulations of the family daycare profession can be beneficial in making an informed decision on whether a potential provider is right for you. You may find it beneficial to read "Your Child's Safety in Licensed Family Child Care". When you enroll in a program you should be given the Rule Summary for Parents form. This is a summary of each Rule part requirement. Here is the link to the full Rule- Minnesota Rule 9502. Family daycare is also governed by Minnesota Statute 245A. Here is a version of the statute specific to family daycare programs- 245A 2013 Statute Daycare version.
