Information Technology Department

The Information Technology Department supports the operations of Stevens County through the provision of countywide information systems and services. The Coordinator of Information Technology Services is appointed by the County Board of Commissioners and reports to the County Board.

The mission of the Stevens County Information Technology Services is an internal County department responsible for all facets of technology in Stevens County. Including planning and forecasting, researching new and possible technology uses, operating and maintaining data processing equipment, AS/400 system operator, administering the county's network and providing computer training and support on various software products. Provides quality information and services, solutions, technology and support for each department.

Stevens County processes its information through an IBM AS/400 mainframe computer. Each office in the County is directly connected with a computer terminal or personal computer, which is used to enter data, generate reports, and inquire on records. The department coordinates AS/400 activities and implements work plans. The department is also in charge of monitoring and upgrading the system as needed, loading software updates, backup data, and documentation. Maintain and update system security AS/400 Disaster and Recovery Plan.

Networking Services for the county courthouse and off site departments. Manage, design, install and maintain the County network backbone, LAN, WAN, and County servers operating systems.

Technical support - provides implementation and help desk services for the County’s mainframe and personnel computers, printers, software, etc. The IT Department interacts with all county entities, State, City, other counties, public and vendors.
