The Stevens County Sheriff’s Office is exploring the option of purchasing and deploying body worn cameras. Minnesota law requires Stevens County to post a copy of the sheriff’s office policy regarding Portable Audio/Video Recorders on the Stevens County website prior to purchasing any such equipment. Minnesota law also requires the sheriff’s office to accept public comments submitted electronically or by mail, as well as provide an opportunity for public comment at a regularly scheduled county board meeting.
