Organics

The Stevens County Organics Recycling Program was established in 2021 after Stevens County Environmental Services applied for a grant through the MPCA Environmental Assistance Grant Program.

The program aims to increase opportunities, access, and education surrounding implementation of Organics Recycling throughout Stevens County.

With our partners, Engebretson Disposal, Pope/Douglas Solid Waste Management, and The City of Morris, Stevens County organics are hauled to the Glacial Ridge Compost Facility in Hoffman, MN.

Commercial waste producers interested in starting Organics Recycling should contact Sydney to learn more.

Households and families interested in Organics Recycling at home can start anytime. To learn more, visit the Household Organics/Desechos Biodegradables del Hogar page.

As of May 1st, 2023 the Stevens County Organics Program has collected 271,940 lbs (135 tons) of Organics to deliver to the Glacial Ridge Compost Facility!
